Curator Ute Meta Bauer reflected upon three of her exhibitions on Thursday 24 January 2013 in a conversation with curator Iwona Blazwick at the Whitechapel Gallery, London. I have waited to post this till now when the talk is available online. One of the exhibitions Ute Meta Bauer and Iwona Blazwicks talked about were their sections of the exhibition ‘NowHere’ at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark in 1996. I experienced this exhibition and it had a very big influence on me. I have now lived twenty years in the UK, but I grew up close to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and this show ‘NowHere’ was the first time ever that an exhibition had taken up the whole of the Louisiana museum. My memory of the show is how very fresh and pulsing with energy and ideas it was. I had just started my art education then so in many ways it became a brilliant reminder that there are no rules in art and that great ideas are the foundation for the art that I relate to.
